Leighton Park School
Overview
Leighton
Park School believes in encouraging all its pupils to live adventurously, gain
an appetite for life-long learning and be prepared to make a difference in an
ever changing world.
Set in 60 acres of beautiful parkland, within easy reach of Heathrow Airport
and central London, Leighton Park School provides an outstanding natural
environment for learning, and for developing relationships within a traditional
British boarding school environment.
As a school of just over 480 students, where 20% of the students represent over
thirty different nationalities, we are a truly international community. This
means we understand the needs of international students, and have developed
expertise in supporting their full integration within the British educational
system.
Academic excellence is a constant and vital feature of Leighton Park School. We
offer the UK curriculum, but at Sixth Form students have the opportunity to
study either A Level or the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Whilst we want our students to succeed academically we also want them to enjoy
the rich diversity of boarding school life to the full. Pupils can take part in
over 50 clubs and activities and excel at art, drama, music and sport,
benefiting from first-class facilities.
Unique Points
As a Quaker school, Leighton Park upholds the Quaker values of honesty, integrity, simplicity, equality and peace in the everyday life of the school. What makes Leighton Park a distinctive educational environment is that these values are embedded within the school's exciting and broad curriculum that supports all our students to achieve both academically and in their own personal development, to “Let their Lives Speak”.
Entry Requirements
All pupils up to Sixth Form entry must sit the Leighton Park entrance tests (English, Maths and Non-verbal reasoning). Students applying for Sixth Form with GCSE qualifications will require at least 5 GCSE’s at Grade B or higher. They should also have gained a A*-B at GCSE in any subjects to be studied at AS Level or Higher Level IB (A/A* for Maths).
